Hey Kids, I'm Rachel!
I'm a 21 year old college student at Western Carolina University. I'm about 5'11" give or take a half inch (ok, really I'm 5'10" and a half)! I like being tall, and I love being blonde... wow I sound like a valley girl. I love sports too! I did college track at WCU for my first 2 years here. I'm an Elementary Education major, and that recquires more time than you could imagine. Apparently I'm going to the best school in the nation (At least North Carolina) for elementary education because we received the Christa McAuliffe education award recently. I also love animals and have worked at an animal hospital back home for about 4 years now.
I love music and movies, and believe me, I have an odd and random taste! I love everythign from 80's music like Tears for Fears and George Michael, to David Bowie, to Metal, to rock, to classic rock, and all the way down to movie scores by composers like James Newton Howard, Danny Elfman, Thomas Newman, etc. As far as movies go, I like pretty much anything thats decent. I like LOTR, Pirates, Harry Potter, Labyrinth, X-men movies, Spiderman movies, The Departed, Mr. Brooks, Juno, Atonement, Sweeney Todd, etc... seriously, I had my Spring Break last week and saw 3 movies during the course of 6 days. Sad, I know.
I'm in a Christian Sorority up at WCU called Sigma Alpha Omega. I never thought of myself as a sorority girl, but hey, looks like I am one now! God is an amazing and improtant factor in my life. I grew up in a Southern Baptist church. First semester at WCU I was a bit of a follower, as in, if my friends partied, I partied. Second semester, I was again, somewhat of a follower and joined the Christian sorority and tried to be the perfect little Christian, but this semester... this semester has been amazing. I've started going to a Bible Study/Church called TwentyFour-7. Its run out of a family's home. Their oldest daughter is actually in a lot of classes with me. These people are sort of like, ex-hippies. They've done everything you could think of until God brought them to Him. At 24-7, we go for a deeper relationship with God.. something more meaningful and less "structured" you could say. There IS structure, but not the formality of a typical church. We do prophetic worship a lot of times, you start off singing one beautiful worship song then everyone starts singing their own song to God. It's something I wish everyone could experience. I'm wanting to go deeper than ever before with the Lord. The awesome thing about this church is that they're so loving, supportive, and accepting. 
Hmmmm I'm pretty much a spaz. Goofball, crazy, random, spaz. I love to have fun, and because I go to a smaller school, I have to come up with my own fun. One night, me and my friends decided to have a dinosaur party. We watched dinosaur movies (well, just one, and it was a funny old lame Japanese one, ahha) and then make dinosaur stuff (some colored, I made a dino out of playdough, and some made other dino related things) and then we resorted to drawing dinosaurs all over campus with sidewalk chalk.. I had to hold in giggles when people kept talking about the random dinosaurs all over campus.
Pretty much guys, now that I've rambled FOREVER, I'm a fun girl. Just get to know me!
